The value of community

In response to Andrew Oliver's recent post, all I ask is, "Why were so many JBoss developers so mad at Marc Fleury and wanted to join Apache?"

'Nuf said. I know which community values its participants more.

Have an Amendment!

Is Eugene Volokh a fan of Dave Chappelle? He wonders why people only "take the Fifth" and not other amendments.

In last week's episode, Dave had a skit comparing the attitude towards 'white collar' crime versus 'drug-related' offenses (in a Law & Order rip-off). Dave (as a gang-banger dealer) got called before a congressional inquiry and, "plead the Fif." While the white guys who money laundered and stuff got beat up and had cigarettes burned in their head. If only!

A-Rod to Yankees.

Over at the Boston Globe, CHB says:

"It's not that A-Rod is that much better than Soriano, Manny, Nomar, or any other star player. It's that A-Rod was the guy the Sox coveted."

Sadly (and for once!), I think he's right about why RSN is so upset.

But, as a Rangers fan, I'm mad, too. This means that the team I support is going to suck for another three or four years. At least with A-Rod on the team, there was some excitment and reason to support the team. Now, it's just disheartening to watch. (I have tickets to all of the Rangers games when they visit the Angels.)

I hate to see the lying twit Hicks sending out emails to season ticket holders saying that they are going to "welcome back A-Rod." He never meant it.

He's taken a good franchise and run it into the ground. The problem wasn't A-Rod. It was Chan Ho and Juan Gone. $26 million for an MVP and $26 million for two slackers can't work.

I'll still cheer for my team, but this just hurts.

Recall Hicks.
